Powered by Harness AI and the Software Delivery Knowledge Graph, the Harness Platform brings intelligent automation to every stage of the software delivery lifecycle after code by removing toil and freeing developers from manual, repetitive work.
Join us to design, build, and deploy next-generation AI agents using the Harness Platform and win up to $10K in prizes!
THE CHALLENGE
Build an AI agent that drives tangible improvements in software delivery performance. Demonstrate how autonomous intelligence can streamline DevOps workflows, reduce operational friction, and integrate human-in-the-loop (when needed) to accelerate engineering outcomes within real SDLC environments. Start from scratch or fork an existing Harness System Agent.

faq
The Harness AI Hackathon is an invite-only virtual event where selected Harness customers design and build AI agents that help enable a self-driving DevOps lifecycle using Harness platform capabilities.
The event is designed to help engineering teams explore practical ways to use AI to improve software delivery performance by automating workflows, reducing operational friction, and accelerating engineering outcomes.
The hackathon will run virtually from April 24 through April 27.
Participation is limited to invited Harness customers. Teams may include up to five members, with no minimum team size requirement.
Participants can build agents that address real delivery challenges such as release readiness validation, change impact analysis, flaky test triage, deployment guardrails, and post-deployment verification.
Selected participants will attend a kickoff session, receive access to a dedicated hackathon Harness environment, design and build their AI agents during the event window, and present their solutions in a final demo and judging showcase.
Solutions will be evaluated based on their ability to deliver measurable engineering impact, demonstrate thoughtful automation design, and show practical applicability within real software delivery workflows.
Top teams will receive cash prizes, Harness swag, recognition opportunities through customer success storytelling, early influence on the Harness AI roadmap, and potential publication of their agent in the Harness Agent Catalog.
Teams should plan for a focused but manageable effort during the hackathon window, including the kickoff session, solution design, development time, and final demo preparation.
Participants should have familiarity with their software delivery workflows and basic understanding of CI/CD or DevOps practices. Harness will provide platform access and onboarding support.
No. Teams will be provided access to a dedicated hackathon Harness environment to safely design, test, and demonstrate their AI agents.
Participants retain ownership of their ideas and implementations. Selected solutions may be showcased or considered for publication in the Harness Agent Catalog with participant consent.
Yes. Harness experts will provide guidance through kickoff enablement, documentation, and designated support channels throughout the event.
Shortlisted teams will present their AI agents in a live virtual showcase to a panel of Harness product leaders and industry experts.
Participants may continue refining their solutions, explore broader adoption within their organization, and collaborate with Harness on storytelling, roadmap feedback, or future innovation programs.
