Why Harness
AI code creation is accelerating faster than delivery operations. Delivering it safely is still the hardest problem in software. Harness is the autonomous SDLC platform where speed and safety stop being a trade-off.
How Harness delivers
Governed software delivery at machine speed
Coding agents stop at the pull request. General-purpose agents with broad access can ship, but ungoverned. Harness Agents run inside your infrastructure with your identity, permissions, and an audit trail on every action, fast and governed.

Automated Governance

Progressive Deploy
Zero touch
Governed orchestration. Agents deploy inside the release workflows your teams already trust.
Granular autonomy controls. Set exactly how much AI can do, per workflow, per environment, per team.
Full system context. Agents decide with pipelines, policies, incidents, and service relationships all linked.
Four agents, one platform. Software Delivery, Security Testing, Runtime Protection, and Cost Management agents share one governance model.
Adopt on your terms
Keep the tools that work, replace the ones that don't
You don't have to rip and replace. Keep the tools your teams trust, and replace only the ones that are slowing you down. Every combination shares one governance model.
Common Adoption Patterns
Code in GitHub, delivery + security + cost in Harness
Code + CI in GitLab, CD + security + testing in Harness
CI in GitHub Actions, CD governance + GitOps in Harness
Code in your IDE with AI. Delivery intelligence via MCP — no context switching.
Code, CI, CD, security, testing, cost — one platform end to end
How we compare
Native platform coverage
Where each product provides a native, built-in capability versus requiring additional tooling or third-party integrations.
Agentic governance
Governance built for agentic delivery
Every agent runs through scoped permissions, OPA policy gates, and an audit trail, governance built into the platform from day one.

Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
Harness is the only platform with embedded AI across every stage of delivery - not bolted onto a CI tool. The Pipeline Orchestration Engine has run 2.4B+ executions. Worker Agents execute remediations as governed pipeline steps. The Software Delivery Knowledge Graph connects every module. No point solution covers this ground. No toolchain shares this context.
Yes. Harness integrates with GitHub, GitLab, Jira, Kubernetes, Terraform, HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, and 40+ security scanners. The MCP Server connects Expert Agents to Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, and any MCP-compatible client. You can adopt one module at a time without rebuilding anything.
Most teams see measurable results within the first sprint. Relativity reduced cloud costs 30-40% within 30 days. BetterCloud saved $180K/yr and shipped 3x faster after migrating from Jenkins. Raisin saved $525K on their Jenkins migration while increasing release frequency 5x.
Both. Harness offers open-source modules, self-serve plans for smaller teams, and enterprise-wide deployment. Start with one workflow - CI, cost management, or security scanning - and grow into the full platform without rearchitecting.
Two agent classes. Expert Agents - 15+ domain specialists - answer questions, surface recommendations, and route through Harness AI Chat or MCP. Worker Agents execute as governed pipeline steps: Autofix, Code Coverage, Vulnerability Remediation, Code Review. All agents are grounded in the Software Delivery Knowledge Graph, so recommendations compound with every cycle.
Harness is SOC 2 Type II certified, GDPR compliant, and supports FedRAMP-ready deployments. The Delegate runs inside your VPC with outbound-only networking. Secrets resolve at runtime from your vault. Environment-scoped isolation keeps dev and production credentials separate.
No. Harness has been building AI into software delivery since 2017, when we launched Continuous Verification — the industry first use of unsupervised machine learning to analyze observability data and automatically roll back failed deployments. Since then we have embedded AI across every module: Test Intelligence, AI-powered pipeline creation, automated vulnerability remediation, feature experimentation analysis, and more. Continuous Verification itself has evolved into our AI Verification and Rollback capability, which uses AI to automatically configure metrics and explain rollback decisions. The Knowledge Graph, the agent layer, and the orchestration engine are all part of the same platform we have been building for eight years. We are not adding AI to a delivery tool. We built a delivery platform on AI.
