Harness University Growth - Harness Certified Experts - 3000th Certification Issued

At Harness, we are a strong believer in the aphorism that a rising tide raises all ships. As individuals gain more learnings and skills, collectively we can help move the software delivery craft forward. Two years ago we created the Harness Certified Expert series of certifications alongside the GA launch of Harness Developer Hub. Over those two years, we have increased and improved our offerings and last week had our 3000th certification that we have issued. We have designed the Harness Certified Expert series to be attainable, challenging, and rewarding and have training offerings to help you get there. 

What is a Harness Certified Expert?

Software delivery can be a wide brush to paint with. Harness as a Platform has over a dozen modules today and each module can represent an entire career of expertise. Scaling your knowledge across the platform when left unstructured can take time and results will vary person to person. With the creation of the Harness Certified Expert two years ago, we have put a framework in place with multiple levels of validation/certifications per module. This enables you to learn at your own pace. 

How do you become a Harness Certified Expert?

Everyone learns at a different pace. The first step is to visit Harness University on the Harness Developer Hub. From there you will be presented with learning paths and study guides. From there, once you are ready to take an exam or course, you will be directed to our LMS where you can register for an exam or offering. 

In our LMS, you will notice that there are training offerings to help reduce time-to-value. 

Harness Training to Shorten Time-to-Value

Last year, a year into our journey, we re-invisioned and re-launched Harness Training. We wanted to design modern training and create material and experiences on the ethos of “how would you educate a peer”. Similar to varying levels of offerings in the Harness Certified Expert framework, Harness Training is designed to shorten your time-to-value in flexible and robust ways. From free webinar style Self-Paced Training to paid hands-on Instructor-Led Training, there is an offering to meet your time constraints. 

With our Instructor-Led Training, you have access to ephemeral cloud and Harness resources in a hands-on and isolated fashion so you are free to explore and experiment. Our Product Education Engineers are experienced architects who are able to come on-site or deliver virtually.  One of vendors, Instruqt, has a case study out on the infrastructure and experiences we created to help drive learning across the Harness Platform. 

Customers and Partners have access to a multitude of training and certification offerings. For Harness Partners, there is a new separate track for those implementing Harness for their own customers.  

Harness Certified Implementation Engineer, a Capstone for Partners

A newer launch for Harness and an investment in/by our Partner Ecosystem is becoming a Certified Implementation Engineer. As a capstone certification, it represents our highest level of elite certification. As a final round in this process, there is a panel interview process with Harness Architects discussing current industry challenges and how the individual would solve them with Harness capabilities and ecosystem knowledge. Recently Avyka has sent a talented engineer through the program who has completed the capstone exercise. 

Becoming a Certified Implementation Engineer is certainly a great milestone of achievement and knowledge. Even if you are just getting started or looking to uplevel, Harness has many resources for you to take the first step.

Core and expert software delivery skills are not going away and will continue to be valuable.. Even with the meteoric rise of the Artificial Intelligence ecosystem, having AI in your applications/services still needs to get said applications/services into the hands of the end users.
