Harness is committed to promoting workplace health and safety to the highest standards throughout its business, ensuring the health and safety of all employees, contractors, vendors and other contract workers, visitors, and our communities (collectively, our “stakeholders”) during its operations. Our intention is for our activities to be carried out in accordance with relevant country and local legislative requirements while ensuring the reduction of risk at our sites.
Harness seeks to continuously improve its health and safety performance and create a culture that values everyone’s safety and well-being—whether it is in a Harness office, at an event, traveling, or working remotely. We are individually and collectively responsible for ensuring a safe environment.
To deliver our commitment, we aim to:
- Meet or exceed applicable legal requirements; where laws and regulations do not provide adequate or explicit controls, we will adopt our own standards to protect our workers;
- Identify risks arising from work activities and deploy preventative measures to minimize them;
- Engage our workforce in the promotion and achievement of high standards of workplace health and safety performance through collaboration with employees;
- Ensure employees are trained and accountable for preventing process safety incidents and work-related injuries and illnesses;
- Continually evaluate and improve our health and safety practices and systems and strive to integrate workplace health and safety into our business and decision-making processes;
- Support programs and provide resources that contribute to employee health and well-being, as well as individual and team productivity;
- Communicate new and updated health and safety policies and procedures to applicable Harness stakeholders; and
- Respond to concerns raised by Harness stakeholders.
While accountability for our health and safety systems ultimately rests with our senior leadership team, each employee has an individual responsibility to understand and follow our health and safety policies and procedures and to participate in trainings and programs so that we can achieve our goals together. We want to empower everyone in the Harness community to be accountable for their own safety and the safety of their colleagues.
Our Health + Safety Committee and Workplace Experience Team support the development and implementation of a business-focused Health and Safety strategy, with an aim for continuous improvement.
